About the workshop presenter

Lilija Rakova, born in 1989, graduated from Vilnius University with degrees in English Philology and English Studies. Her poems have been published in various literary magazines, including Šiaurės Atėnai, Literatūra ir menas, Vilnius Review, and Metai. In 2023, she was one of the winners of the Literatūrinės slinktys (Literary Shifts) competition. In 2024, she received awards at both the Poezijos pavasaris (Poetry Spring) and the Poetinis Druskininkų ruduo (Druskininkai Poetic Fall) festivals. Lilija has a deep fascination with neopaganism, magical realism, as well as the folklore and fairy tales of the Middle East.

Workshop Inner Universe into Verse

Aspiring poet Lilija Rakova will share key insights into what one can expect on their creative journey, including what has worked for her and potential pitfalls to avoid. The workshop will include a brief analysis of students’ poems and a creative task designed to help young creators embrace their unique perspectives, express them in poetic form, and refine their individual styles.
